It's All About Eye Contact!

My favorite shot taken at the Latin Music concert at NJPAC in Newark, NJ
I just love the intense expression on the boy's face....if only I'd brought my Nikon D80 instead of just the Fuj P&S with a 3X zoom!

It Ain't Easy Being Bresson!

During the lunch break from the Tamron Photography Workshop at the New Yorker hotel I took a walk down 34th Street in the drizzly rain. Still under the influence (of Henri Cartier-Bresson, that is), I tried to get some candid street shots. First, I acted like I was focusing on the Swarovski storefront; then I got the back and profile shots, but just as I was circling to get to the portrait shot of these two tourists? students?, I got busted by one of them! Taken by surprise, the shot is slightly out of focus on the subject.

I didn't want to carry my usual zoom, so I had only the Nikon 50mm 1.4 fixed lens on the camera. I can see I need more practice with this lens.

Since I can't zoom, I had to walk away or towards my subject...a lot harder to be sneaky and unnoticed.

Black & White In Music

How did these music videos end up on my "Black and White Only" blog?? Well, think about the notes on a sheet of music! Now that I've gotten that out of my system, it's back to B&W Photos.

Leonard Cohen - The Letters

Just watched a Netflix Indie movie "Land of Plenty" and this song at the end of the credits really got to me. It's here because it seems to be "Black and White"

Tripping in the Bronx!

A Newark Museum trip to the Bronx included a stop along Arthur Avenue, the "Little Italy" section, stopping for lunch at Trattoria Zero Otto Nove
