Mall of America...Not Just Shopping!

We had a 1/2 hour to spend at the Mall...but who can go to Minneapolis and not go to the largest mall in the United States? I spent those 30 minutes in the Amusement Park area, which they certainly do not have at the Short Hills Mall! Everywhere kids were going round in circles...on the Carousel, the Ferris Wheel, the whirling Swings! How do they do that and manage to keep down the hotdogs, slushies, and other junk food?

Cowles Conservatory "Fish Pond"
Frank Gehry's Standing Glass Fish 1986. The Walker Art Museum brochure tells this story of the inspiration for this glass, wood, and steel sculpture.."When artist/architect Frank Gehy was a child, his grandmother brought live carp on Thursdays to make into gefilte fish on Fridays. She'd let the fish swim in the bathrub overnight, where Gehry would play with them. This memory inspired the artist to create this 22-foot high construction that rises out of a lily pond among the palms."
